Lung Cancer

Patient: Liang-Yi
Lung Cancer

Dr. Wang: This lady has cancer.  Apparently, lung cancer. She got a lung cancer. She's being given 6 of these vials per day. She's so weak when she came to this hospital.  She cannot have surgery or chemotherapy.
Reporter: How long has she been here?
Dr. Wang: 15 days.  After we checked her lungs, her water is in here (pointing at the x-ray).  She cannot receive any operations at this moment.  So it's not good for her to go through the operation.
Reporter: In other words, it's beyond the operational stage.  And the lady is sitting up in bed.  You can see that.  If you take a shot of her, she seems doing better than she first came in apparently. But the treatment has only begun and this is one of first of the story.
Hai Wei Chen: She got a lung cancer.  Before she come to this hospital she go to other hospital to have her x-ray and some examination but she just cannot take any operation or surgery.

Reporter: She felt very bad and now it's 15 days later and she has been taking some of this treatment. How do you feel now?
Patient: When I first came here, I coughed everyday.  And I feel pain.  I also have water inside my lungs. After 15 days, the cough is getting better. No pain right now inside my lungs or chest.  And she feel better.
Reporter: 15 days....ah..2 weeks and a day. Feeling better.   And just take a look at her, you look like you are smiling, you look happy.
Patient: Yes. Color of skin, face is better.
Hai Wei Chen: First time, about 2 weeks ago, you can see her face.  At that time, the lady tells us the color is not very good. Very weak color.  Right now, you can see her face, it is a little red, shiny on her face.  So that means she's getting better.
Reporter: Yes.  I can see the rosening of her cheeks.  (to the patient's son) Is it a great blessing that your mother is here?
Liang-Li son:Yes.
Reporter: I am so happy for you and I pray that you will recover and that you continue in this program that has done so much for so many.
